"I started taking Pilates because I wanted to spend some time with my mom doing something healthy. BUT I can now wear heels for an entire day, pound 11 miles on the pavement in NYC, hunch over my computer for hours on end and my back does not hurt, and I'm a lot less stressed. Also, my immobile former swimmer shoulders have started loosening up even though we are constantly doing things to "strengthen" them. Go figure." - Caroline, 2018, a happy Body Connection Pilates enthusiast
Words cannot adequately express what a difference Rachel has made in my world. I entrusted Rachel to train me for two of the most important events in my life – first my wedding and then many years later the birth of my child. Working with Rachel, I not only met my goals, I exceeded them! I walked down the aisle in the best shape of my life, I had an easy and comfortable pregnancy, and I got that baby out in less than 10 minutes with less than 10 pushes. Where would I be today without Rachel? I shudder to think! Emily B.
Pre Natal & Post Natal Pilates
Rachel has trained me in pilates before, during and after my first pregnancy and childbirth. The two years I did pilates under her guidance resulted in a smooth and pain-free pregnancy and to a postpartum body and posture better than before! I have moved away from Atlanta and I have yet to come across a trainer with such an amazing attitude and dedication towards her students. Sofia G.
Learning Pilates begins with breathing deeply and finding all the muscles in your body. With Rachel's expert instruction, you focus your mind on activating the many muscle groups in your core. For me, discovering and engaging these muscles has transformed my body. I am now constantly conscious of my posture and able to position and exercise my lower abdominals and hips when I walk, sit, and go about my daily activities. Even though I learned Pilates ten years after the birth of my second child, it has helped me resolve pelvic floor issues. But best of all, Pilates gives me a buzz! Mary R.
Strength and Flexibility
Pilates and Gyrotonic have helped me develop strength and overall flexibility in ways that aerobics and lifting free weights never did. Pilates promises a strong abdominal core, but it has also provided me with upper-body strength and muscle tone I did not develop using free weights or weight-lifting machines. Now in my mid-50s, I find that I have better posture, more energy, and better flexibility than many women my age. I expect to feel strong for many years to come with the help of these practices.
